Albite is a member of the Plagioclase Feldspar Group. The group is an isomorphous solid solution series. Albite is one end member, containing sodium and no calcium. The other end member is Anorthite which contains calcium and no sodium. The crystals on this specimen are well formed with little damage. The large shorl is nicely terminated and sparkling little muscovite mica specks top off the specimen. The back side needs no picture because it is where it was sheared off the vug wall. This specimen is from Minas Gerias, Brazil.
